After the onion and potatoes farmers in Korce declared failure, they were joined by the tobacco growers.

Besides being obliged to throw their goods after finding no market to sell them, 250 families of the Podgorie village have not been paid by the Greek firm that has taken the production of one year without paying them.

The farmers confirm that they have maintained their families in the last 10 years by growing tobacco, and according to the agreement with the Greek company, they should have been paid five months ago.

But the only answer was that there is no money, while the company keeps producing cigarettes. The farmers warned to block the national road, after receiving no reply grom the state institutions.

According to the data, there are dozens of other villages that have grown tobacco and are waiting for the delayed payment, risking failure.
