Korce, city might get floods again

The city of Korce might be flooded again this year by the water below the main boulevards.
The problem that has been repeating for several years has caused debates among the Korce Municipality and the Directory of Waters. The Municipality and the Directory of Waters try to disassociate from the responsibility each time that there are rains and the polluted waters flood boulevards.
The vice Mayor of the Korce Municipality, Sotiraq Filo, explained that the Municipality has undertaken a project for resolving this problem, but it has been suspended by the illegal constructions made in one of the new neighborhoods of the city. On the other hand, he has blamed the Directory of Waters for failing to turn the Gjanci Canal to functionality, where the waters of the Morava Mountain are discharged.
The Drainage Board Director, Pellumb Tuxhari, explained that the inefficiency of the Gjanci Canal is the main cause of the floods.
The responsibility thrown between the two institutions seems to forget the interests of the citizens, who will be obliged again to walk on flooded boulevards.
