“Konomi”, Halimi: Waiting prosecution’s results

The Minister of Justice, Eduart Halimi, declared that all pretences that
Judge Konomi’s family members expressed in a letter addressed to his
institution will be taken under consideration.
“The cooperation of the Police with the Prosecution is satisfactory. We will wait the Prosecution’s result”, the Minister declared from Pogradec.
The family of Judge Konomi sent two letters to the highest Albanian state leaders, the President and the Prime Minister, appealing them to help in encouraging the investigations for finding the murderers of Judge Konomi, and also to help in securing their lives and guaranteeing a just process for the trial in which they are involved.
The first public letter was sent to the Minister of Justice and the Vice Chairman of the High Council of Justice. The Konomi family has requested not only the protection of their family members, but also that of the judges that will lead the trial on October 3rd.
Top Channel has secured another letter that the family members have sent to the Prime Minister, Sali Berisha.
In this more direct letter, the family members of Judge Konomi say that they not only fear for their life and for losing their property through threats and manipulations, but they also suspect that the motive of the murder was this exact trial. They appeal the Prime Minister to guarantee a fair trial.
Investigations, verifying phone calls
Regardless the declarations of the police officials that they would announce the name of the suspects very soon, the investigations have given nothing concrete so far.
Besides the main suspected motive, that of the property issue, although the case continues to be registered at the Court of Serious crimes for murder because of the duty, since the victi was a judge, the investigation team says that this is one of the most difficult cases to be solved.
Members of the investigation team have unofficially declared for Top Channel that they have checked the phone tabulates in Vlore, at the moment of the explosion.
From 08:00 to 09:30 there have been 8000 phone calls in Vlore, all of which are being verified. The investigators are following this lead, since the explosion was made through a cell phone.
This method was used for discovering the gang “Night shadows”, that robbed 500 million ALL in Tirana and were identified by the phone calls that the gang members had made between each other while conducting the robbery.
