Kombinat residents protested for the systematic power cuts. For more
than 60 minutes, the protesters blocked the road by expressing their
indignation not only for the electricity, but also the water supply.
“On 19:00 the water starts running, but we have no electricity. And I used the entire pension to pay them, without giving me a bill”, a resident says.
Police tried to unblock the road, but met resistance from the Kombinat residents, who marched on foot until the protest was over.
The Socialist MP of the area, Sajmir Tahiri, declared that this situation caused by CEZ and governing bureaucracies is untolerable.
“This is a scandalous and intolerable situation. The citizens do not have electricity and water for several hours a day, unable to perform a normal life”, Tahiri declared.
