Bardhyl Kollcaku will be Chief of the Armed Forces General Staff, as decreed by President Ilir Meta.
He replaces Jeronim Baze, after being refused by former President Bujar Nishani.
After graduating at the Military Academy in 1990, Kollcaku served as Dirrector of the J 5/8 Directory at the General Staff, then as General Director of the Agency for Intelligence, Security and Defense in 2015.
As regards NATO, his recent duty was Director of the Coordination and Integration Division at the Supreme Command of the Alliance for 2013 and 2014. From October 1996 and until April 1997, Kollcaku served as Military Observer of the UN Mission in Georgia.
Before receiving the current major grate by President Meta, on July 31st, Kollcaku has attended and graduated from the College of General Staff in USA; College of Joint Armed Forces; Combined Course of Strategic Intelligence at the Military Intelligence Agency in USA and the Executive Course of Strategic Studies at the European Security Center “George C. Marshall”.
