KFOR troops expected in Kosovo

The new contingent of NATO troops with arrive today in Kosovo from
Germany and Austria, two countries that answered positively to NATO’s
request for sending additional troops in the country, after the situation in the northern part of the country deteriorated.

KFOR spokesperson Hans Diter Vihter declared for RTK that the biggest number of troops will arrive in the days to come.

The situation in Northern Kosovo seems to be calm. KFOR commander, Erhard Buhler, met high-rank Serbian officials, but without any new result. KFOR spokesperson, Hans Diter Vihter declared that these meetings would continue even today, but he didn’t specify the time and the type of the meeting.

Albania sends troops in Kosovo

Albania is ready to give its contribute in KFOR units, but not in Kosovo’s hottest spots.

Prime Minister Sali Berisha declared during the government meeting that the situation in Northern Kosovo is completely under the control of Kosovo authorities, and KFOR presence is a big peace and stability factor not only for Kosovo, but for the entire region.
