The US State Secretary, John kerry, will stay only three hours this
Sunday in Tirana, for the 25th anniversary of reestablishing diplomatic
relations between both countries. Kerry thanked Albania as a strategic
ally for helping the US with the Uyghur issue and with the sheltering of
the Iranian opposition who are under US protection inside the “Freedom”
camp in Iraq.

The issue of Iranian Mujahedeens is the first point of the US Secretary agenda. He will thank the government of Albania of undertaking to shelter them.

PM Berisha undertook a few years ago to shelter more than 200 mujahedeens, while the current government of Prime Minister Rama has agreed to shelter 1000 other Iranians, from 2800 that are currently residing in the “Freedom” camp of Iraq.

This issue has the agreement of the opposition, and maybe that is why Kerry will meet only two people during his visit in Albania, PM Rama and former Minister of Interior, Lulzim Basha.

John Kerry has in his agenda to discuss about the importance of the Justice reform, as the second most important matter. Sources say for Top Channel that this part of the messages affects directly the interior politics of Tirana, that is why the articulation details were thought very carefully.

A third important matter is Kosovo. Kerry will ask PM Raa for a more active role in Kosovo, especially after the concerning developments with the protests of the opposition.

Government sources say that this is also related to the dinner between Rama and Kosovo’s Foreign Minister, Hashim Thaci.
