The Mayor of Kavaja, Elvis Rroshi, was arrested this Monday by order of the Prosecution, accused of forging official documents.
The arrest order was issued by the Court of Tirana.
It is still unclear what documents he is accused of having forged, but the Prosecution says that Rroshi is accused of violating the decriminalization law, since he has hidden the fact that he was sentenced in Italy.
The Mayor of Kavaja is one of the people that has been accused mostly by the opposition abuot his past.
The Central Election Commission started verifications about names suspected of hiding crimes of the past.
