Violence against one person who was under police custody and the attack
towards Police Station no.5 in Tirana has brought the suspension of 15
police agents of this structure.
The suspension was communicated yesterday by the vice director of Tirana Police, Gjergj Jorgo, who has notified that the Directory of Professional Standards is being investigated for their connections with the events of July 21st in the Police station no.5, where the irritated brothers of a person who was under police custody, who had also been beaten, attacked the institution and hit several police agents. On that same night, victim of the violence was also the Chief of Crimes Department in this Police station.
According to official data by the General Police, the Directory of Professional Standards has started the investigations for making a full clarification of the incident.
In these circumstances they have inspected the names of all police agents who were in service on July 21st. After the verification, the Directory of Professional Standards decided to suspend 15 agents, two of them high rank officials.
