The Minister of Energy announced yesterday that Albania had won the Arbitration case against Hydro SRL, owned by Francesco Becchetti, regarding the Kalivaci hydropower plant.
Top Channel contacted the company, which explained that the verdict of the International Chamber of Commerce Court is partial, without evaluating the sum to be paid, and for which the Court is also reserved.
The reaction says that the partial decision has not taken in consideration the evidence regarding the expropriation of the concession, which was filed to a later period.
Hydro SRL states that in June 2017 they announced the Albanian Government and the Ministry of Energy for a second Arbitration Court in which Hydro ICC was asked to verify contractual violation by the Ministry of Energy for creating fake evidence through the agency depending from them, the Natural Resources Control Agency.
The Hydro SRL company claims hundreds of millions of EUR in compensation. The first Arbitration Session was held in January 23rd, 2018. The administrator of the hydropower plant, Ceccobelli, declared for Top Channel that Minister Gjiknuri should wait for a final decision of the Arbitration, in order to give a proper information to the public.
