
In Tirana was held the Justice Conference, where were invited experts who discussed about the Constitutional amends.
The former President, Alfred Moisiu, declared that Albania’s transition phase is longer than in the countries of the region.
Moisiu added that the latest Constitutional amends were made in 2008, by only two political parties, and according to him, this is not right.
“We must analyze the Constitution and make the necessary amends, so that they can serve to the country’s future”, Moisiu declared.
The former Head of the Albanian state made several proposals for resolving the problems of the Albanian justice, which have often been cause to harsh political conflicts.
Justice is one of the main EU Commission recommendations for giving Albania the EU candidate status.
In the open letter that the European MPs, Eduard Kukan and Hannes Swoboda addressed to PM Berisha and the opposition leader Edi Rama, the justice reform was considered a necessity.
The British ambassador in Tirana, Fiona MacIlwham declared a few days ago that strong justice is a condition for the EU.
