Judicial theater with Gerdec

After trying to get the absent defense lawyers on the phone, as he
always does, the leading judge of the Gerdec Trial was unable to conduct
even this session.

Hado performed what now is his weekly ritual, calling each defending lawyers, a procedure made through funny quotes.

“The session is with open doors, but not with no doors at all. The sessions should be respected”, Hadon declared.

While waiting to hear the lawyers of the defendants, whose voice has not been heard yet, Hado adjourned the session to the next Monday, which might the last for 2011.

The court as heard only the conclusions of 16 defendants so far, including the former General Commander of the Albanian Army, Luan Hoxha; the former General Secretary of the Ministry of Defense, Adriatik Mema; the former Legal Director, Ndue Marku and the former MEICO supervisor, Sokol Ngjeci.

But the court has not yet heard the conclusions of Mihal Delijorgji, Ylli Pinari, Dritan Minxolli, “Albademil” Company, and the former Commander of the Joint Forces, Shpetim Spahiu. According to the predictions, the defense will close on January 2012, postponing this way the verdict for the tragedy of 15 March 2008.

The Gerdec trial has been postponed through these years due to the absences made by the defendants’ lawyers, and no measure has been taken against them.
