Judges protest for “Konomi” murder

This Monday at 12:00, all judges of all degrees boycotted the judicial
process for 15 minutes in homage of the passing away of Skerdilajd
Konomi, the 33-year-old judge who was executed last week.

Since the judges are legally forbidden to make strikes, they boycotted their work this Monday at noon, for some minutes, in a silent protest for urging the authorities to find the author of the murder of their colleague, the first judge executed in Albania.

Top-Channel followed the boycott of the judges in all courts, even in Tirana, where judges abandoned the court rooms and were closed in their offices.

The Supreme Court declared through an official press release the all Albanian judges joined this protest for the honor of Judge Konomi. “Through this silent protest, the judges appeal the public opinion to offer their solidarity to the judicial system.”

“This silent protest is homage to our colleague, the good man and father of two children, Skerdilajd Konomi. This protest aims to make aware the competent institutions for working harder and with the entire authority given by the law for bringing the authors to justice”, says Gerd Hoxha, member of the Albanian Judge Union.

Top-Channel observed that most of the judges fear for their life after the execution of Skerdilajd Konomi in front of the Vlore public. Contacted by Top-Channel, members of the investigation team confirmed that they have leads for this sophisticated execution and that they are working with all possible leads. The only hope for the moment is the results that might come after controlling his phone calls.
