Judge Neritan Tabaku is under investigation for power abuse and not only
with Ilir Xhakja’s case. The judge is also suspected of delaying the
publishing of the explanatory arguments for two years in another case.

According to the documents secured by Top Channel, after the murder of Chief of Police Adem Tahiraj by a newly released prisoner, the investigators have discovered that Judge Tabaku had delayed the explanatory arguments and this is what left the murderer free. The investigators say that the same practice was used for finding another criminal innocent, Jordan Findiku.

Top Channel has secured Judge Neritan Tabaku’s verdict for the 55-year-old Jordan Findiku, for whom the Prosecution asked four years in prison over forgery charges. The verdict that found him innocent was taken on March 2010, while the explanatory arguments were given only on September 2012, after the scandal went public.

The Prosecution filed an appeal, but the Court failed to review the case in which the Prosecution claimed that a group of people had falsified the Durres Port Authority registers, in which the defendant was known with the alias “Painter”, due to the falsifications’ quality.

Now that the High Council of Justice has removed Tabaku’s immunity, the Prosecution has taken the entire documentation the judge’s cases for investigation purposes. After the lifted immunity, the judge is expected to be summoned for interrogation.
