It has become a common thing that officials suddenly get ill before
appearing to trial. This was the case of Haxhi Giu, who missed the first
session saying that he was getting treatment at the prison hospital.

The Prison Directory said for Top Channel that Giu is in prison, not in hospital. However, the Court took the request for granted and even appointed a cardiologist for verifying his health situation.

While the Prosecutor was absent, Aleks Shpori, co-defendant in this case, appeared in court without any legal defense.

Shpori is the relative of a person who was arrested. Giu had promised to reduce his sentence in exchange of a considerable sum of money. Present in the room, also left free for medical reasons, was the Prosecutor of Fier, Petrit Vukaj.

Within the same day was decided for the former Judge of Saranda, Rasim Doda, who is accused of corruption. The Prosecution asys that the judge has asked for money in exchange of a verdict.

Doda accused the former Justice Minister, Nasip Naco, of orchestrating his arrest. He also implicated a Saranda Court who appears in the registration, talking with the plaintiff.

According to Doda, the Specialist IT of the Court has intervened in the computer by placing a verdict that he didn’t give.

The Court of Serious Crimes has sentenced the Lezhe judge for corruption, with four years in prison and 3.5 years in prison for the Pogradec Judge.
