While the Vlore Administrative Court gave a temporary order for not
intervening in the “Jon” complex in Vlore, until the trial lawsuit is
resolved, the Deputy Minister of Transports, Ylli Manjani, declared for
Top Channel that the territory in the Albanian coastline will be
cleaned, even from the building in question.
“The state has the legal right to remove the consequences and return everything as it was. The demolition of this object is undisputable. It will be demolished, but this demolition is a consequence of a series of law violations”, Manjani declared.
But what are these violations? Everything started in 1995, when the Agency of Property Compensation returned 600 square meters of land to the owners, while the Vlore court, one year later, gave the right to property for other 1000 square meters. According to the Albanian authorities, this area is in fact in the sea. And after this, as through magic, other institutions are involved in this game.
“From 600 square meters that they were initially, today we have 3000, due to a spectacular consequence of corrupted institutions and law violations. The Municipality’s permit is not regular”, Manjani declared.
But while the demolition is seen as a law implementation, what will happen with the residents?
“Anyone could have been victim of this illegality. Those who have bought apartments are victims and cannot be treated equally as the fraudulent people who have violated the law. The government will pass a fund for compensating them”, Manjani declared.
