Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The number of emigrants who return to Albania and remain unemployed is
still dramatic. Obliged to return by the increased unemployment in the
neighboring countries, the emigrants have returned home, where they find
the same destiny.
The Korce job seekers have quadrupled in less than one year. 2011 had only 30 registered emigrants who return home from Greece, but today there are 138 of them.
After knocking in vain on the institutional doors, these emigrants are placed in front of the same fate, since the job market is limited, while they have other experience from what they are asked.
According to the data, only three of these emigrants have been employed, while the rest are waiting for a job. Many others still keep returning home, while Greece continues with the crisis.
