Jihadist killed in Syria

His uncle, Tahir Balliu, says he knows nothing about his 24-year-old nephew, besides what the news give on TV. He says that his family doesn’t know anything about his brother and wife, the parents of Idajet, who have also left for Saudi Arabia.

“If it is true that they lied to them, took him for studies and turned him into an extremist, then may God punish them. They will never find peace”, Tahir Balliu says.

Neighbors say his family has a good reputation: “They have been lied to by extremists. They are not extremists. They are poor people. He went to study there, and maybe that’s why they went there. Our village is Muslim, but we don’t like extremism”, one of the neighbors says.

Idajet Balliu left his country two years ago. No one knows how he ended up dead in Syria. They also think that his parents have also been lied to and gone to Syria.

The Balliu family lived in very poor conditions in Dragostunja, and they idea for a better life made them leave their birthplace.
