The Albanian Ambassador at the UN, Besiana Kadare, is not invited at the party of Nikki Haley.
The party of the US Ambassador, on January 3rd, will have only those who voted against the resolution or who abstained.
Albania voted in favour of the resolution, which said among other things: “Any decision or action that aims to change the status of the Holy City of Jerusalem, has no legal effect, it is null and invalid, and it should be repealed based on the resolutions of the Security Council. This resolution asks states to not establish diplomatic missions at the Holy City of Jerusalem”.
Before the voting, the US Ambassador made this declaration:
“We will remember when we will be asked to contribute at the UN, the biggest organization in the world. We will remember also when other countries will ask us to pay even more and use our influence for their benefit”, Haley declared.
The resolution against the recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel was voted by a resounding majority of 128 votes in favour,9 against, 35 abstained.
The US Embassy in Tirana preferred to not comment the vote in Albania, but their declaration said that the decision of President Trump affirmed the current and historical reality of Jerusalem as capital of Israel, and added that the United States admitted the simple truth that Jerusalem is the center that also has the Parliament, Prime Ministry and Supreme Court of Israel.
