KFOR troops in Kosovo have extended their safety zone at the Jarinje
border checkpoints, where they have removed a roadblock placed by the
Serbian residents.

According to Kosovo media, the KFOR soldiers have not allowed UNMIK representatives to approach, who were to transmit the citizens’ stance.

Sources add that the border checkpoint 1 remains closed and surrounded with barbed wires in a 500 square meter area.

For establishing security in north, KFOR troops searched the passenger train of the Kraleve-Zvecan line.

The train was stopped before entering the tunnel, at the Jarinje border checkpoint, and all passengers were searched.

This Tuesday, the international soldiers were involved in an incident with some Serbs who opened fire against Albanian workers at the Bosnian Neighborhood, in Qeshmellug.

KFOR responded with rubber bullets and wounded the Serbian aggressors. The event caused many reactions from Serbia, USA, EU, NATO etc.

The Russian Foreign Ministry also expressed its concern for the safety of Kosovo Serbians.

The tense situation in northern Kosovo has been going on for so long that the Kosovo Interior Minister considered it as “unbearable”.
