January 21st, Rama: Investigations almost over

After meeting with the Kosovo Minister of Justice, Hajredin Kuci, the
Albanian General Prosecutor, Mrs. Ina Rama, commented the investigations
of theb January 21st events, in which four Albanian citizens lost their
lives.
“The January 21st investigations are almost over. We have postponed the deadline and we believe that the second deadline will be respected. The investigations will be concluded within the declared deadline”, Ina Rama declared.
When asked about the Tirana Court verdict against the Gerdeci tragedy defendants, for whom the Court rejected the manslaughter charges, the Albanian Prosecutor declared:
“It is the court’s decision. We have built another case with charges and we are appealing the verdict at the Tirana Court, for the legal qualification that has been made different from the charges that the Albanian prosecution has raised”, Ina Rama declared.
During the meetings in Prishtina, both parties agreed to reinforce the cooperation between the Kosovo and Albanian Prosecutions, in order to advance with the legal system in full accordance with the European standards, and to fight the organized crime.
