Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future In the third trial session, the 27-year-old Armando Kasaj, former Chief IT at the Prime Minister’s Office has asked accelerated trial by avoiding the debate and by accepting the status of the investigation files.
The Prosecution and Court both agreed on his request, which means that by the end of the trial, after the prosecutor and the defending lawyer will read the conclusion, will profit one third reduction of price in case the court will find him guilty.
The right to ask accelerated trial doesn’t mean that the defendant is pleading guilty, but it will be seen as a special trial and the prosecution will communicate the charges in favor of the trial economy.
On the same day, on another room, the court continued the hearing session with the former National Guard Commander, Ndrea Prendi, the former National Guard Officers Agim Llupo and Margarit Kume.
Eye witness Ilia Papa declared that he was injured on that day by staying at the sidewalk in front of the Prime Ministry, without attacking the building.
“People were saying that there were plastic bullets, but I understood that they were real when I saw pieces of marble blowing up”, the witness declared, adding that he didn’t see the person that shot him.
Journalist Eneid Janina, who was attacked by the police during this demonstration, explained with details what had happened on January 21st, from the moment when the Prime Minister’s gate was attacked by a car, and until the crowd dispersed, when they attacked the police with hard objects and when shots were fired from inside the Prime Minister’s office.
“Not only I heard the shots, but I also saw the fire coming out of the barrels”, he declared.
