On the Missing Persons Day, the Kosovo President, Atifete Jahjaga,
visited the village of Mejë where she attended a meeting with family
members of the missing persons, to whom she promised her commitment and
that of the Kosovo institutions, in order to shed light on the destiny
of the missing persons.
“I am here, today, to share with you the pain of your close relatives who were killed in the biggest massacre of the Kosovo war. I know that here were gathered people from Gjakova and the surrounding villages, who were shot without mercy after being taken from the long row of refugees, separated from their parents, their children, their mothers. This was a plan of the Serbian occupying regime, to cause us as much pain as possible”, declared the Kosovo President, according to RTK.
The Kosovo President added that Kosovo owes its freedom and independence to these martyrs that were sacrificed for a Kosovo governed by its own people, for a Kosovo with free democratic institutions, dignified and equal country to the European Union.
