Italy and Slovenia wished that EU integration and the fulfillment of the
reforms could serve as a strength for overcoming the current political
stalemate. This stance was expressed in today’s meeting of the Foreign
Minister, Edmond Haxhinasto, with the Italian and Slovenian ambassadors,
Saba D’Elia and Bojan Bertoncelj.
The two ambassadors conveyed to the Albanian Minister the joint message that the Italian and Slovenian Foreign Ministers, Franko Fratini and Samuel Zbogar sent to the EU high representative of Foreign Affairs and Security, Baroness Ashton, and to the Commissioner for EU Enlargement, Stefan Fule.
The ambassadors declared that EU doors are open for the countries that fulfill the conditions.
The message says that the EU enlargement process is making progress, and the latest membership of Croatia clearly shows that EU doors are open, as soon as the countries fulfill the recommendations.
