Isolated by the roadblocks, the Albanian citizens in the Caber village,
Zubin Potok, expressed their determination that regardless the pressure
and the provocations of the Serbian residents, they will never leave
their homes.
Now used with such situations, they say that they are living normally. Meanwhile, after the roadblocks were placed on the roads, they are finding other alternatives for moving to town.
“We will not move from here. As for the road, we will find something else”, says Bajram Selimi, resident of Caber village.
“We are used with these provocations. They fear us, but we don’t get out because of the roadblocks. We go through Brinac”, says Latif Kamberi, resident of the same village.
The Albanian Caber village and the Serbian Zupq village are divided by only one road. The German soldiers have blocked this road for the Serbian citizens.
A few meters farther, a group of Serbs surveyed every movement. As soon as they understood that we were an Albanian camera crew, they started offending.
However, Top Channel tried to interview a Serbian citizen, but as soon that he saw that we were Albanians, he refused to speak.
The Albanian residents say that after the roadblocks and the embargo of Serbian goods, the prices in north have increased.
Together with that, the gas price has also hiked, what is obliging some Serbian citizens to fill their cars in the southern part of the city.
On the other side, KFOR helicopters have spread messages for the Serbs staying at the roadblocks. They threw flyers saying that KFOR accepts the right of peaceful protests, but the roadblocks are illegal. These flyers say that KFOR, based on the resolution 1244, aims to return the freedom of movement.
In this tense situation, the Helsinki Committee for the Human Rights in Belgrade gave another alarm. They say that Serbia is preparing the reservists for war with Kosovo in October.
This organization has received the letter from a person who had been invited some days ago by the Serbian Ministry of Defense, which warns him to stand by for war on 5 October 2011.
