The Prosecution of Tirana has seized some of the last ballot boxes of
May 8th elections. This was also confirmed by the Central Election
Commission and sources from the Prosecution.
This action was undertaken for the investigation on the discrepancies between the number of ballots in the boxes with the numbers signed in the documentations, after a suit presented by the Socialist Party.
This action has blocked the process for burning the rest of the ballot boxes, which, according to the CEC, is going on normally.
On September 26th, the Central Election Commission unanimously voted to burn the ballots of the last elections, but leaving one month to the Prosecution for seizing the ballot boxes they needed the investigations.
The burning procedure for the other ballots must end before December 31st of 2011.
