The Serbian Prosecution has started the preliminary investigations
regarding a mass grave found near Rashka. The human remains might belong
to at least 250 Albanians from Kosovo, killed during the war.

A building was constructed on the mass grave, in order to conceal the tracks. It has been confirmed that two of the bodies belong to victims from Kosovo.

Bruno Vekaric, Deputy Prosecutor General at the Belgrade Court for War Crimes says that the process will be professional.

“The verifications show where two of the bodies come from. We have started the preliminary procedures and it is very important to find the authors of this. It is difficult to assess what there is exactly in this location, but we are doing everything necessary. After finding out the number of bodies, we will continue with the process”, Vekaric declared.

After cleaning the terrain, the first excavations will continue in the next week. According to Vekaric, the Prosecution will have to investigate many questions, but however, it is clear that this is a war crime.

“The question is who built this house on this location. It is clear not only that they have tried to hide the tracks, but there has been a complete infrastructure and we will investigate it. We will take measures as soon as we receive any testimony, because it is clear that this is about a war crime”, Vekaric declared.
