Investigation deadline for Prifti postponed

The General Prosecution postponed the deadline for the investigation of
the former Minister of Economy, Trade and Energy, Dritan Prifti, and his
Deputy Minister, Leonard Beqiraj.

The decision came after the investigation team decided that it is necessary to take other testimonies. Prifti’s investigation started after the US experts, who were verifying the video file between Prifti and Meta, discovered a video that Prifti had deleted from his laptop. The video showed Prifti filming himself while sharing 70.000 EUR with his Deputy Minister, Leonard Beqiraj.

Prifti and Beqiraj declared that the money were not a corruption act, but a civil relation between them.

But the Prosecution has evaluated that other people should be interrogated for this case, which has also been requested by Prifti. The Prosecution says that in the new period of investigation they will decide if they will sent the case to trial or not.
