Interpol wanted suspect released

Another person wanted by the Italian justice has been released by the
Albanian courts, three days after he was arrested by the Kukes Police
for being wanted by the Interpol.

Prosecution sources declared for Top Channel that the 53-year-old Durres citizen, Asjan Beceza, a well known businessman in his birthplace and once named Hasan Beceza, was arrested by the Kules Police on 19 April 2012, on behalf of the Italian justice. But the Albanian court left him on house arrest, arguing that he was no danger for the community.

A Kukes Prosecutor confirmed that the Italian justice had been looking for Beceza since 6 May 2005, according to an arrest order released by the Milano Court for participating in criminal organizations, for which he could face even 30 years to prison.

However, the prosecution will appeal the case, together with another one that was given a few days ago, for Fatmir Kajolli, a well knwon Fier businessman arrested on behalf of the Italian justice, but that was set free by the Albanian courts.

This is the second verdict in which the judicial system rejects the prosecution, which will bring reactions and dissatisfactions not only from the General Prosecution, but also by the Italian authorities.
