A massive fire broke up in the Morava Ridge, near Devoll, burning at least 15 hectares of forest.
Preliminary information say that the fire has been recorded near the Guri I Cjapit and Grapisht area, while the entire surface has coniferous trees. The difficult terrain in this area has make it impossible for fire engines to enter.
After identifying the fire, which is suspected to be intentional, dozens of Forest Service employees, from the Army and the Green Sector of the Korce Municipality have started working on terrain to take the fire under control.
Its proximity with the National Park of Bozdovec and Dardha has made it urgent to stop the fire from entering. The Prefect of Korce, Ardit Konomi, declared that they are taking all the necessary steps to take the fire of Devoll and Dardha under control, while they are working more in Bozdovec, where the fire has progressed more.
