The Albanian Parliament voted in favor of the draft-resolution prepared for the European Union integration process.
In the Parliamentary sessions, Parliament Members voted unanimously with 105 votes in favor of the process.
Before the voting, Rama held a speech expressing his readiness to open a new chapter in Albania’s Parliamentary life.
The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared his readiness to open a new chapter in the Parliamentary life of Albania.
“Albania can consider closed the non-functional Parliament chapter. For this we have received positive opinions from friends and partners who used to see Parliament as one of the reasons for not allowing Albania’s progress in Europe. This is the Parliament where people respect each other”, Rama declared.
As for his recent meetings with international officials, Rama underlined that the new government has full support from the European factor for realizing their commitments.
“Albania still has a huge number of unkept promises and disappointments, which make our partners not be 100% convinced that Albania is ready. I guarantee you that we have found full support to encourage the new government to continue in this direction. We have secured support to open a new chapter in the fight against crime and corruption and against economic ruin”, Rama declared.
By valuing the contribution of the Chairwoman of the integration commission, the Prime Minister underlined that the majority remains committed for political all inclusiveness.
“Our goal is to open negotiations and address the five key priorities established by the European Union. The opposition should be free of all nightmares of the past, when it was eliminated from the position of a vital factor”, Rama declared.
He declared that his government is ready to include the civil society in the integration process, and that the stalemate of the past will be resolved with the opposition through new results.
“Passing from written promises to a real one, will show that the Albanian people are able to more than just pass laws on paper, only for the eyes of the citizens and those of the international partners”, Rama declared.
“Don’t expect this majority to turn into a factory that approves laws. You should expect us to increase the law implementation to an European level. We have a package of initiatives that will help us reach concrete results to convince even European Union skeptics”, Rama declared.
“We are fighting organized crime. The number of solved cases has increased. Some people who have been arrested have started saying interesting things, while people wanted from foreign authorities were forgotten”, Rama declared.
The Prime Minister reconfirmed that they will cancel all corruptive concessions that have put money away from the Albanian citizens’ pockets.
