Integration, Kiesewetter: Politics to cooperate

The message that the political class is the one that should take the
reins of integration by cooperating for the reforms, was given even by
the MP of the German government coalition, Roderich Kiesewetter, who is
attending meetings with all Albanian political representatives.
In a joint press conference with the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli, the German MP declared that the request for cooperation between parties for recuperating the lost time is the message that he brings to Tirana on behalf of the German government, emphasizing that Germany is a strong supporter of Albania’s EU integration.
Valuing the return of the opposition in Parliament as a positive change, Mr. Kiesewetter declared that it is time for all parties to cooperate in Parliament, because Albania, according to him, has lost at least one year of valuable time for realizing the reforms that enable the candidate status.
On her behalf, the Parliament Speaker, Jozefina Topalli reconfirmed the position of the majority for accepting any suggestion from the opposition for the electoral reform, consulted with the Commission of Venice. She underlined that the majority’s invitation for letting the opposition chose the Ombudsman is still on. Mrs. Topalli declared that she expects the opposition to show through actions what has been promised in words. The proof, according to her, will be tomorrow, with the consensual session for voting the law for the Administration Court.
