Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
The Albanian Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, invited the opposition
leader, Edi Rama, to quit what he considered a “blocking policy for the
country’s integration” and vote in Parliament the three laws of
qualified majority, which is an unfulfilled part of the 12 key
priorities of the EU for Albania.
Since the European Commission cannot approve the EU proposal without their confirmation, so that Albania can receive the candidate status, the Prime Minister declared at the Democratic Party parliamentary group that if the Socialist Party will continue with this blocking method, the consequences for the country will be incalculable.
“The Prime Minister declared that Mr. Rama withdrew from the compromise for the Parliamentary Regulation one week ago, when the government accepted ton allow the opposition leader to speak on Parliament after the Prime Minister’s speech, and returned to the initial variant that the opposition leader can discuss after every intervention of the Prime Minister.
Berisha invited Rama “to give from the idea to become Prime Minister through the Parliament’s regulation, rather than the citizens’ vote”.
Berisha invited Rama into a trust motion for the Fier Council, which the opposition has used as a condition for the Supreme Court law and the Civil Service.
Berisha gave these comments after receiving the congratulation message of the Democratic Parliamentary Group for his 68th anniversary. Berisha declared that he had asked three wishes to God on that day: To give him half of they years to still live, and half of the mandates that has governed. Berisha declared that he left the three wish for the next year.
