Integrated Border Management agreement

Today, the border and customs police officers in Kosovo received the
first guides before implementing the agreement for the Integrated Border
Management.
The Customs Police in Gjilan were told that their duties remain the same. Kosovo has replaced the “Dheu i Bardhe” border checkpoint with 2.5 kilometers, approaching to the Serbian one.
The Serbian side has not finished all preparations in the infrastructure, as promised. However, the agreement was implemented as foreseen, at 08:00.
Even at the Bernjak border checkpoint in Zubin Potok, in Northern Kosovo, despite the problematic situation, the IBM agreement started implementing. This has caused discontent, making the Kosovo Customs and Police officers to travel at their working posts through helicopters.
Around 20 Serbs were placed in Zubin Potok, 20 km from the Bernjak border checkpoint. They parked their cars and opposed this agreement, saying that this means establishing a border with Serbia.
There are four border-checkpoints between Kosovo and Serbia, where the IBM has started being implemented. The objects are temporary, and the permanent ones will be built later.
