Last year, an Albanian family spent 69.442 ALL per month for consumption, according to a poll of INSTAT.
Anisa Omuri, specialist at the INSTAT says that for families with 3.8 members, 31.000 ALL go for food, 38.000 for other consumption.
A huge part of the Albanian family budget is still being used for food. But, compared to five years ago, the difference has been reduced and Albanians are still using more funds for education.
The General Director of INSTAT, Gjergj Filipi, explained that the increased spending for education is not by chance. The poll shows those who spend more for education have a higher economic level. The conclusion is that Albania is turning more unequal, which is also shown by the 10% richer population in the total consumption figure.
Tirana has the highest level of well being, where a family with 3.8 members spends 81.650 ALL per month. Elbasan is lowest with 53.000 ALL, or 35% less.
