fourth trimester of the year was 3.8%, mainly due to the progress in
trade and transport.
“Trade, hotels and restaurants increased with 8.8% compared to the fourth trimester of 2010, with an increase of 2.7% compared to the third trimester of 2011. Transportation increased with 15.4%, compared to the fourth trimester of 2010”, declared Etugert Llazi, Specialist of the National Accounts at INSTAT.
The fourth trimester concludes the annual figure of economic growth, which, according to INSTAT, is very near to the government variant of 3%.
“The GDP in basic prices during 2011, based on the trimester assets, signed an increase of 3.1%, compared to 2010”, declared the specialist of accounts at INSTAT.
Trade has led the economic growth not only during the fourth trimester, but also during 2011. According to INSTAT, trade increased with 5.45% for 2011, giving a bigger contribution to the economic growth in the last year.
Agriculture, another important sector in the world economy increased with 3$ during 2011, compared to 2010, while the industrial production has slowed down, increasing with only 2.8%.
The figures show that transport was the sector with the strongest progress during 2011, which has increased with 18%, but due to the small weight in economy, its effect in the total production growth is much more limited.
