The Task Force of the Tirana Municipality for keeping the meat market
under control has started with an action on terrain for inspecting the
hygienic conditions in which animals are killed.
According to the Vice Mayor, Petrit Vasili, it will be prohibited to food product animals alongside the streets, for which the Municipal Police is committed.
“We are inspecting 76 activities. We had a positive outcome from 18 of them, which are registered, and the others will be monitored in the week to come. The Municipal Police has a direct order to prohibit butchers who establish stands alongside the roads and kill their animals there, since it is not hygienic and an ugly sight for everyone. They will be removed with their consent or not”, Vasili declared.
According to Vasili, all subjects that want do business with the food products must fulfill the hygienicb conditions first, and if they fulfill all parameters, they must register their business at the Tirana Municipality and have their activity licensed.
