The Vlore-Skele Boulevard has undergone a total reconstruction. The
boulevard is 2 km long and the reconstruction work started last Spring,
but it hasn’t finished yet.
The works have been interrupted twice by supervisors after identifying quality flaws. This situation with the tourist season approaching will cause big problems in traffic, which are known for the city.
Not only the main boulevard, but also the coastline entering point, the Uji i Ftohte tunnel, has not finished yet. 70% of the tunnel has been enlarged, but the executing company says that they haven’t been paid yet for their work. The blocking of the works would create chaos in traffic during the summer season, also for the fact that the alternative road is almost completely destroyed.
