Independence, Prishtina celebrates in red and black

Prishtina woke up today in Red and Black. The squares and the roads were
decorated with the Red and Black Flag, and the citizens went on the
streets to celebrate the Independence Day of all Albanians.

A giant flag, an initiative of the Red and Black Alliance, traveled from Vlore to Prishtina, and decorated the “Newborn”, Kosovo’s Independence symbol. The Red and Black Alliance held its speeches at the ABC Cinema, with a touching moment when Kreshnik Spahiu told about his first trip to Kosovo, when he was ten years old and the Serbian forces returned him at the border.

The RBA continued the march at the Newborn monument, where was unfolded the giant Red and Black flag that had traveled from Vlore.

Although the government of Kosovo has declared November 28th a national holiday, the Prishtina Commune, the Self-Determination Movement and the Red and Black Alliance are the ones that undertook the vitalization of this atmosphere in Kosovo.

The Self-Determination Movement placed a giant flag at the Kosovo Parliament and at the entrance of the capital.  The MP of this movement at the Kosovo Parliament, Glauk Konjuvca, declared that this symbolic action is being made as the Kosovo institutions deserve, by calling it the flag of Adem Jashari, although the government decided to adopt a new one.

He added that with this action they offer their solidarity to the Albanians of the Presheva Valley, who are celebrating the Independence Day with the red and black flag, since the Kosovo government declared that the current flag will be used only during the negotiations with Serbia.
