The red and black colours of the Albanian flag dominate in the capital
of Kosovo, Prishtina. The 100th anniversary of independence has gathered
many of Kosovans in Tirana and Vlore to celebrate this special day.

The couple Muhamet Krasniqi and Ema Berisha were just married in the Ibrahim Rugova square. This couple from Prishtina has been living together for several years and decided to marry on the Independence Day.

The activities at the “Mother Teresa” square do not end here. The good will of the Kosovo Albanians to join with the Albanians is expressed each day more. A symbolic initiative for giving Albanian passports to the Kosovo citizens is welcomed.

The Movement for Unity, a non-parliamentary party that aims national unification declared that they are living in a state that is united with Albania. The Municipality of Prishtina distributed some Albanian passports, with the Kosovo actor, Leze Qena, becoming the first one to receive the Albanian passport.

The organization of the state institutions in a day like this is still lacking. The Self-Determination Movement MPs placed red and black flags in the Kosovo Parliament. MP Visar Ymeri declared that this 100th anniversary finds the people of Kosovo with the aspiration to unite with Albania.

“The dream of every Albanian in Kosovo is to unite with our motherland, and Albania becomes one. As regards the institutional declarations, especially those of Prime Minister Thaci, I would suggest to the citizens to look at his deeds, not words”, Mr. Ymeri declared.

Besides the flags and the national symbols, a 100 meters long bread was placed in the centre of Prishtina, cooked exactly for this day. The activities for Albania’s independence started on November 27th through a concert held at the Prishtina stadium.
