Albert Korpuzi is a sculpture student, in the first year of university.
He carved in glass the image of Skanderbeg, Adem Jashari, Ibrahim Rugova
and Mother Theresa.

His work attracted citizens that are making preparations for celebrating Kosovo’s 5th anniversary of independence. He says that the profits will help him with the studies.

“We have the Independence Day and I decided to display my work. There are many people who showed interest and I am optimistic”, Korpuzi declared.

On February 17th, Prishtina will celebrate the fifth anniversary of independence.

One of the celebration elements will be the military parade of the Kosovo Security Forces. The novelty in this parade is that there will be two armoured cars with their own weapons and own standards.

“KSF will participate with 500 members. There will be armoured cars donated from Turkey. The weapons will be standard, rifles, automatic weapons and handguns”, declared Shemsi Veseli, Deputy Minister of the KFS.

The Kosovo Police and the Emergency Service will march together with the KFS, also with the presence of guests from other countries.

The Kosovo Police has taken the necessary measures to facilitate the circulation of vehicles.

Hajrush Fazliu, a university professor, says that he is making the preparations for February 17th, and together with his family they will celebrate in the centre of Prishtina.

“This is a very important event for the Albanians. I will participate with my family in the centre of Prishtina”, Fazlliu declared.

Other Kosovo communes are also preparing for the celebrations, which started officially this Friday.

After the “Independence Parade”, which will go on for two hours, the Parliament of Kosovo will hold a solemn session this Sunday at 15:00 with many guests, including MPs from Albania.

A concert will start at 23:00, followed by a fireworks show.
