Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist Party organized a meeting in which they discussed the problematic of domestic violence, unemployment, illiteracy and ignorance.
The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, considered as tragic the number of women
who have been killed in Albania. During a meeting for preventing
domestic violence, Rama declared that the raised crime figures are
related with the moral and professional ruin of the police, and the
social-economic ruin of the country.
“Albania is the country with the biggest number of murders, and with the biggest number of deaths on the streets. We have a country that has the lowest wages for police in the region, even lower than Bosnia and Kosovo. Our police officers are not paid for their bonuses or extra hours. They are seen pushing their cars for not having oil. Crime is not an issue to be treated only by confronting crime, but also by fighting its causes”, Rama declared.
The opposition leader answered to the recent Democratic Party declarations for the three laws that have did not pass for the EU integration process.
“Albania is not short of three laws to enter Europe, but short of three administrations. The legislative administration is hostage to the executive administration, and the executive is hostage to corruption, while the judiciary is hostage to corruption and the executive administration”, Rama declared.
