Ina Rama replies to Nishani

16/12/2011 00:00

The Prosecutor General, Ina Rama, reacted after the declarations
released by the Interior Minister, Bujar Nishani, for the extension of
the police investigations.

The Prosecutor declared from Pogradec, where she is attending a seminar focused on war against money laundring, that the Prosecution is the institution that makes the investigations, and this can only be changed by changing the Constitution.

“We need the institutions to cooperate, so that war against money laundering gives results”, the PG declared.

According to Ina Rama, the Police have the necessary access and no obstacles to conduct the investigations. This has been achieved through a joint law, signed by Edi Rama and Bujar Nishani in 2008, which coordinates the relations between the Police and the Prosecution.
