The International Monitoring Operation has received the applications
collected by the Ombudsman for the Vetting Law candidates .
The Ombudsman published the list with 84 names, among who is the well-known former Prosecutor General, Ina Rama; Albana Shtylla, current Secretary General at the Albanian Parliament; Sokol Çomo, member of the High Council of Justice; Shpresa Becaj, former chairwoman of the Supreme Court and Fatos Dervishi, Vice Prosecutor General for the 1993-1997 period, involved in the arrest of former Socialist leader, Fatos Nano.
“The number of candidates who fulfill the formal criteria has reached 84. The 109 candidates have not fulfilled their formal criteria. We have sent to the IMO the list of candidates who have fulfilled the formal criteria”, said Ombudsman Totozani.
Now it is up to Mrs.Calavera and her team to review these lists of candidates, for which she gave a positive recommendation on March 3rd, for at least 79 candidates. The 84 others received a negative evaluation.
