The International Monetary Fund published a report on the monetary policies and progress of the economy of Albania.

The Chief of IMF for Southern Eastern and Eastern Europe, Anita Tuladhar, held a press release with the Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, and the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko. She underlined the continuing of the structural reforms and improving the business climate, including the justice reform.

“To improve the business climate, more work should be done with the structural reforms, as regards the property rights, the justice reform and the laws about companies”, Tuladhar declared.

IMF also adds that the bankruptcy law will help.

As for the banking system, the IMF notes that the system itself is stable and confirms that increasing crediting remains a challenge in this sector.

The IMF say they have discussed with the government about reducing the budget spending and its impacts in the economy and the country’s development.

The Minister of Finances, Arben Ahmetaj, said that investments are not primary for the government, but the creation of the business climate.

Ahmetaj adds that with the anti-informality action, the Albanian government has left behind the Greek scenario and has stared a new phase, what they have called “finding smart growing instruments”.
