After Top Channel reported a wave of illegal constructions in the
Albanian capital, the Construction Inspectorate has intervened but very
selectively, by bringing down only one of the reported objects.
Mayor Lulzim Basha did not answer on this issue.
Top Channel: We have been reporting illegal additions to current constructions, profiting from the electoral period.
Mayor Lulzim Basha: If you ask the Tirana Municipality, you’d take an answer about what we are doing.
Top Channel: We tried and there was no answer…
Mayor Lulzim Basha: I have no information that your media outlet has tried to take an answer. I have seen your reports as I see any other opposition media, especially “Zeri i Popullit”. You may ask explanations from the Municipality, and they will give you the plan of measures that we will realize.
Top Channel: We have also reported the demolishing of an illegal construction.
Lulzim Basha: Well done. For any information you can ask the Municipality and we are open to answer.

But this reaction from the Tirana Municipality is selective, because the construction work is ongoing in other objects that Top Channel has reported. There are other constructions throughout the city, without taking any permissions from the Municipality and by basing their certainties only on bribes and verbal permits from Democratic Party members who see it as a way to accumulate votes.
The Mayor inaugurated the Mujo Ulqinaku road today, in Municipal Unit 10, built with the Municipality’s funds.
