Starting from this Thursday, no butcher will be allowed to sell meat
products without the stamp of the Consumer’s Agency veterinarians of the
Tirana Municipality.
According to the Vice Mayor, Petrit Vasili, a task forced backed up by the Municipal Police will suspend 74 subjects that sell unlicensed meat in the Tirana Municipality territory.
“The Consumer’s Agency, the Tax Directory of the Tirana Municipality and the Municipal Police will verify and suspend 74 activities, while the terrain identification might identify other abusive cases, taking immediate suspension measures. The Municipality and the Veterinarians of the Consumer’s Agency will not stamp meat that has been taken in these conditions”, the Mayor declared.
Vasili appealed the citizens to be careful and not buy meat without the Consumer’s Agency stamp, since it is not inspected and stays in inadequate hygienic conditions. Vasili says that these subjects must apply at the Municipality offices if they fulfill the conditions.
