Illegal buildings legalized

The Tirana Municipality has given 36 exploitation permits for buildings
that were constructed outside the norms, and for this reason were
blocked for several years.

According to the Mayor, only the buildings where the violations are not considerable and do not cause any damage the security of the building will receive the permit.

“We have many minor violations, but also bigger ones, with additional constructions. The property legalization process aims to give the property titles to the owners. It will not legalize illegal additional buildings, and will not allow violated security standards”, Basha declared.

According to the Mayor, there are 100 buildings under process. 100 others for which the investor is not starting the procedures, or when he has disappeared, the procedures are taken by the Builders’ Association, which guarantees to complete them within the year.

But since from this fact will benefit people who have violated the law, the head of the Chamber of Commerce, Nikolon Jaka, asked the Mayor to reinforce the structures they build, otherwise the formal market will be damaged.

“We want more cooperation, and also better rules from the municipality institutions to prevent illegal constructions or other violations. It is in the interest of the forma businesses that require clear and fair competition”, Jaka declared.

The builders have violated the project by adding new stories to buildings will not profit from this process.
