The Party for Justice, Integration and Unity (PJIU) has considered as
inappropriate the Census questions about religion and nationality, but
however, they believe that with the amends that they passed in
Parliament, the Census guarantees its objectivity.
The PJIU leader, Shpetim Idrizi, warned that they will carefully monitor INSTAT for truly implementing the law and brought to attention the amends that sanction the citizens to give full and trustful information.
“These amendments are the only means that we have for stopping abuses with the population registration. Based on this, for everyone that will declare fake nationality data, INSTAT is obliged to correct the free self-declaration with the official data of the National Registrar Office”, PJIU declared.
Idrizi did not hide the satisfaction that some minority organizations, mainly the Greek, have boycotted the process.
“We think that those who had planned to abuse with this Census backed off from their plans, also the Greek consul, who would declare that this registration would be the start of the battle for the Northern Epirus. We guarantee the Albanians that PJIU will monitor the process through Parliamentary interpellations and interrogation sessions, so that everything goes in accordance with law and the Constitution. Albania is and will remain a unitary state, not a multiethnic one”, Idrizi declared.
