More than 40 people in seven days have been cured in the Gjirokaster
hospital for fractures and wounds related with the icy roads around the
city.
Dr. Murat Kaci says that the patients come from all neighborhoods and some of them have been sent to Tirana, due to severe brain damages.
Dr. Murat Kaci says that the ER is still receiving patients each day, and appeals the Municipality to clean the roads that have resulted as very dangerous.
The snow has covered the entire city one week ago, which now has turned to ice in the main streets.
The citizens say that they do not have the necessary tools for removing the ice, while the situation is not seeing any improvements, due to the temperatures that reach -8 degrees C.
